Antique George III Sterling silver candle snuffer (Sold)

An Antique George III Sterling silver candle snuffer and wick trimmer which has been designed in a scissor form with circular rings at the end to open and close the snuffer. a slightly decorated body with a pointed end and resting on three plain feet. When the snuffer is operated there is a section in the middle to snuff out the candle and a guillotine style blade in the centre to trim the wick. The spring mechanism is still in excellent condition and this item would make a useful addition to a collection. There are two initials on the body of the snuffer and each piece is correctly hallmarked.
