Description
A set of eight Antique George III Sterling silver dinner plates which are round shape in design with wavy edged borders and gadroon decoration, plain bodies and resting on flat bases. These silver plates have been made to a high standard and in general have been well cared for over the years. They have slight scratch markings on the bodies which is in keeping with them actually being used. These plates would look impressive on the table and would be perfect to use.
The crest on each of the plates is that of William Lowther, Ist Earl of Lonsdale (1757-1844). He was created Earl of Lonsdale and a Knight of the Garter in 1807.
