Description

An Antique Victorian Sterling silver claret jug which has a tall etched glass body depicting flowers. leaves and butterflies and a plain silver mount with a hinged lid and simple finial.  The silver thumb piece is particularly unusual as it has a hinged fitting which can alter the position, if so desired.  It also has a nicely shaped plain handle which is comfortable to hold.  This silver and glass claret jug would be practical to use and would make an interesting addition to a collection.  It stands at 27.3 cms (10.7″) tall and would hold a litre of wine.
