Description
An Antique Victorian Sterling silver and ivory inkstand which consists of an impressive curved ivory base with a carved feature of a reclining woman and a serpent. referring to the Biblical story of Adam and Eve and the garden of Eden. The gallery for the inkwell sits on top of the ivory stand and the underside of the ivory stand has been mounted with silver feet and ball supports. The cut glass inkwell has a silver mount and a hinged lid and fits neatly inside the gallery. This inkwell is very unique and would be both practical to use as well as looking decorative on the table. All the silver parts are hallmarked for 1899 and 1900 by Joseph Rogers.
