Description
An Antique Victorian Sterling silver combination Sovereign/vesta case which has a rectangular shaped body with attractive decoration to the body with a ring attachment at the top so that it could be worn, if so desired. There is a push button at the top to open the lid which reveals a spring mechanism to house the Sovereigns. At the bottom there is a hinged lid which opens to hold the matches with a striking mechanism to light them. This is a particularly fine example and remains in excellent condition. There is a crest on the front of the body which is part of the history of this interesting piece. It weighs 1.5 troy ounces (48 grams).
