Description

A wonderful pair of Antique George III Sterling silver plates by Paul Storr which are circular in shape with wavy edges, plain bodies, lovely ribbon and reed borders decorated with grapes and leaves and each resting on a flat base. These lovely silver plates are from the Lonsdale collection by Paul Storr and were probably sold by Rundell, Bridge and Rundell. There is a crest at the top of each plate with the motto of the Order of the Garter with an Earl’s coronet below. These plates would make useful additions to a Paul Storr collection and remain in excellent condition. They weigh 49 troy ounces (1,523 grams).

The crests are those of Sir William Lowther who became the Ist Earl of Lonsdale in 1807. He was also made a member of the Order of the Garter in the same year. He lived from 1757 to 1844.

Complimentary postage is included within the price.
