Description
An Antique William IV Sterling silver meat platter/serving dish by Paul Storr which is oval shape in design with a plain body, gadroon decoration around the borders and resting on a flat base. This silver meat platter has been made to a high standard, as one would expect from Paul Storr, and would be perfect to use on the table. There are some slight knife marks on the body which are normal and in keeping with natural use over the years and there is a crest on one side of the border which adds to the history of this fine piece. This silver meat platter would make a useful addition to a Paul Storr collection. It weighs 49 troy ounces (1525 grams).
The arms on the meat platter are those of Henry Preston of Moreby Hall, Yorkshire and those of his wife Anna Crompton, daughter of Joshua Crompton of Esholt Hall, Yorkshire. They were married in 1814.
Complimentary postage is included within the price.
