Hallmarked in Edinburgh for 1897 by Brook and Sons.

Sterling Silver.

A set of four Scottish Antique Victorian Sterling silver menu/place card holders which have been designed with a fox on the front of each menu holder with the family motto of the Todd family underneath. The motto is “Oportet Vivere” which roughly translated means “One must live.” These impressive silver menu holders have a section at the rear to house the card and also a stand for support. Tod is another meaning for a fox and it is fitting that the Todd family have adopted a fox for their motto. These silver menu holders would make useful additions to a collection.
